Alert Acknowledgement Procedure
The alarm acknowledgement procedure allows users to acknowledge real-time ALARM notifications for monitored assets. This process helps track who is responding to an alarm and keeps other users informed of ongoing investigations.
Step-by-Step Process
Step 1: Alarm Notification
When an asset enters an ALARM state (e.g., temperature out of range for a set period), all subscribed users receive a notification via email and/or SMS. This message includes a link to the specific alarm on a specific location/site.
Step 2: Accessing the Alarm
Upon clicking the link, users are taken directly to the real-time temperature graph of the affected asset, allowing them to assess the current situation and up-to-date information.
Step 3: Acknowledge Button Appears
At the bottom of the graph, a blue “Acknowledge” button will appear only if the asset is in an active ALARM state (not in "stable", "safe", or "warning" states).
Step 4: Acknowledgement Triggers Two Actions:
Action A: A notification is sent to all other subscribed users (who have notifications enabled) informing them that a specific user is investigating the alarm.
Action B: The user’s name and timestamp are recorded in the incident log, providing traceability.
Purpose & Benefits:
- Provides real-time accountability and documentation of who is investigating an alarm.
- Helps managers monitor the time between acknowledgement and resolution (e.g., moving food, calling service, restoring safe conditions).
- Notifies other users that the alarm is being actively handled.
